A WBES 3rd grade class participated in hands-on learning at Erwin High School. Erwin High FCCLA (Family, Career, Community Leaders of America) chapter members and food and nutrition students lead students in hands-on learning, applying math, science and life skills for a one of a kind experience.
Measuring, cracking eggs, flipping pancakes, adding chocolate chips and squeezing lemons to make lemonade filled the classroom with smiles. The 3rd graders had a great time: “Best day ever!” “I want to take this class when I get to high school!”
“A classroom full of excited 3rd graders and high school students in leadership roles is a recipe for success!” said Lacey Davis “What better way to promote family consumer science classes, showcase student knowledge and make community connections.”
