Women's Tennis

Freshmen Camdin Shelton and Selah Frisbee represented the Lady Warrior Tennis team at the Regional Conference Tournament in Hickory, NC.

Senior Leslie Sanchez-Amado was named to the All-Conference 2nd Team. 

Coach Lisa Laney is retiring after this school year. 


Volleyball

Sophomore Sarah Cavalarin was named to All-Conference 2nd team. 

Coach Jessica Chapman is focused on off-season training and working with the middle school to build the youth program. The Lady Warriors hosted ETSU Volleyball for a camp here at Erwin and will attend camp this summer as a team, a men's volleyball tournament, the second annual alumni game, and summer camps. They are working on team building and creating a culture of accountability, character, and work ethic. 


Cross Country

12 runners were sent to Regionals, up from 5 the year before.

The men's team placed 5th at Conference and the women's placed 6th. 


Women's Golf

Senior Ella Pruitt placed 1st or 2nd in each of her 13 regular season matches, and her scoring average was 37 for nine holes. She finished in the top 7 in the Conference and represented the Lady Warriors at Regionals. 

Seniors Landre Dingman and Molly Lusk helped round out the team.

Coach Frank Tellez is retiring after this school year.


Men's Soccer

The Warriors made the State playoffs for the first time since 2019 and beat Enka to advance into the second round. 

Freshman Juan Argueta-Aguirre was named to All-Conference 2nd team. 

Coach Gonzalo Martinez-Cruz was named Conference Coach of the Year in his first year as head coach. He would also like to thank coaches Jose Barrera, Sergio Padilla, Cesar Pioquinto and Blake Dale.


Football

The Warriors had a 6-6 overall record and advanced to the 2nd round of the State playoffs. 

Senior Iggy Welch and junior Ty Johnson were named to All-Conference 1st team.

Senior Demetrase Graves, sophomore Nathaniel Brown, and junior Nick Sharpe were named to All-Conference 2nd team. 

Ty Johnson was also named to All WNC 1st team and Demetrase Graves was also named to All WNC 2nd team. 

Demetrase Graves was also an Honorable Mention for All-State OT.

Iggy Welch also participated in the 2022 7G Foundation Indigenous Bowl.
