We know that students are incredibly influential in their own learning and believe that to be successful, schools must have effective strategies to engage students in their own learning experience. Our school district will administer a student survey to grades 3 through 13 to learn more about students’ perspectives on their learning experiences and engagement. The results of this survey will help our school reflect on opportunities for deeper engagement with students.
We are using TNTP’s Insight Student Survey to hear from students about their experiences with the school, including their perception of the school environment, engagement, expectations, and rigor in the classroom. Surveys will be available online. Survey responses are anonymous and will not be tied back to individual students or teachers. Instead, survey results will be aggregated at the school level. Student surveys will be conducted on March 31st.
A successful student survey requires high levels of participation from students. Teachers and other school-based staff play a critical role in supporting the survey administration and ensuring high response rates from students. Teachers will receive an administration protocol to administer the survey to students and proctor the survey for students. Teachers and all other school-based staff should encourage students to complete the survey when they engage with students.
Each school has a School Coordinator overseeing survey logistics and student participation. You’ll hear more from our school coordinator before and during the survey administration on how you can support high response rates from students.
If you have any immediate questions regarding student surveys, please contact Assistant Principal Stefanie Hill at Stefanie.Hill@bcsemail.org .
If you would rather your student did not participate in the survey, please sign the TNTP Opt-Out Letter 1st Block teacher no later than noon on Friday, March 27, 2026 .
Thank you for your commitment to ensuring your school is a place where students can contribute to their learning experience.
