Spread the Warmth Fundraiser

Students with donation checkDuring the month of December, Erwin sponsored a fundraiser to raise money for the purchase of space heaters, blankets, and warm clothing to keep our Warriors warm this winter. All items went directly to families in our community. To date, including donation of supplies, we raised over $2800 and were able to provide blankets and brand new space heaters for 16 families.

Brian McKeown's first period class raised over $250 and won the first place prize of a pizza party. Isaac Rockoff's class raised over $150 and won the second place homemade breakfast. Both prizes were donated by Key Club, Beta Club, and FCCLA.

We want to thank all of the following people and companies for their donations to this cause: Erwin FCCLA, Erwin FFA, The Romanoff Foundation, Len and Amy Hock, Don and Susan Wooten, Sam's Club of Asheville, Home Depot on Acton Road, Lowe's on Smokey Park Highway, Marlene Weaver, Lila and Larry Carr, Mac and Linda Brooks, Rodney Pruitt, The Griffin Family, and Donna Pate. We also received multiple donations of gently used clothing and blankets from a large number of students, teachers, and community members.

Donations to this fundraiser will continue to be accepted year-round. If you are interested in helping, please contact tiffany.wooten@bcsemail.org. "Spread the Warmth" school-wide competition will return in spring 2020.
