Buncombe County Schools and Sprint have teamed up to make sure all of our high school students have the connectivity to do their online homework at home.

Thanks to a grant from Sprint’s 1 Million Project, high school students who don’t have home Internet access can get a “Homework Hotspot” from their school, which allows their school-issued device to connect to the Sprint network.

Erwin High School began rolling out devices on Friday, September 22. Any student interested in participating in the program should see their counselor or librarian.

"This is such a great opportunity to help bridge the gap for many of our students, " says Rachel Edwards, librarian at Erwin High.

The Sprint grant provides the hotspots and service at no cost to BCS or our families for at least five years. The hotspots are configured to work only with a student's school-issued device and maintain the school system's content restrictions.
