2021-22 Back to School Information

Welcome, students and parents! We’re looking forward to a new school year full of opportunities. The first day of school, August 23, is quickly approaching and we want to be sure you have the information you need for a smooth and safe start this fall.

Please see below for important back-to-school information, but feel free to reach out to us directly with any questions. Our school’s office is open Monday through Friday from 7:30-3:30. Please don’t hesitate to visit or call 828.232.4251 with any and all questions. We’re here to help!

Meet the Teacher

You are invited to our Meet the Teacher event on Thursday, August 19 from 3-5:30. It will be an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and learn more about our school, daily activities, and more! It’s also a great opportunity to ask your questions in person. (For the safety of our teachers, students, and families, protective face coverings will be required.) We look forward to seeing you and your student!

Transportation

Students can arrive on campus beginning at 7:00 am.

Students dropped off by car should ONLY be dropped off and picked up in the car rider line at the front of the school.

If your student will ride the bus, please complete the bus rider form located on our school website (click Our School >Transportation) to let us know your child will be riding a bus. Please allow flexibility in your pick-up and drop-off times for the first week of school as we get the bus routes and riders finalized. Also, allow approximately 15 minutes before and after your scheduled time.

Students who plan to park a car on campus should apply for a parking permit by filling out the application on our website (Our School > Transportation) and see Annette Stone on their designated date and time to turn in the application and pay the parking fee.

School Meals

Due to USDA meal cost waivers for the 2021-2022 School Year, breakfast and lunch meals will be available daily to all students at no cost.

Planning to pack your lunch?

Did you know that even if you send your child to school with lunch they can receive fresh fruits, vegetables, and milk from the cafeteria for free? The current USDA waiver allows all students to enjoy healthy meal components to supplement meals brought from home this school year, for free! To qualify, students must select three of the five meal components offered for lunch and one must be a fruit or vegetable. This is a great opportunity to ensure your child receives a healthy, balanced lunch, and it is a great way to help you save money when packing lunches from home!

Student laptops will be issued to every student within the first week of school or as soon as possible after a student enrolls. Please go to FAQs > Student Laptops for more information.
