Students may access the OCS Math 1 Google Classroom through his/her I AM account which will give the student access to daily assignments. 

Course Overview
OCS Math I is a more in-depth study of the topics covered in Introduction to Math I. Appropriate technology will be used regularly for instruction and assessment.

            Topics Covered:

  • Properties of exponents
  • Mathematical Expressions
  • Functions
  • Polynomials
  • Inequalities

Classroom Expectations

  • Be Responsible
  • Follow Directions

We will discuss the expectations in detail on the first day of class and review as necessary.

Make Up Work

Please make an effort to contact Mrs. Osborne before or after class to acquire missed assignments.  All missing work is due within five school days after the student returns.


Students will take the Math 1 EOC at the end of the course.  Each nine-week grade counts as 45% of a student’s semester average.  The final exam will count as 10% of the semester average.

  • 1st nine weeks final grade       45%
  • 2nd nine weeks final grade       45%
  • NC Math I EOC Exam*          10%

*Students will also take a teacher made final exam prior to the state exam.

 Students will received grades in each of the following areas:

  • Tests 
  • Classwork/Math Notebook
  • Quizzes
  • Participation
