Z. Fox

My name is Shayne Fox and welcome to my class! This is my 6th year teaching T&I Carpentry and Woodworking here at Clyde A. Erwin High School. I did a lateral entry from the construction / maintenance industry into teaching, where I have over 25 years experience. From a young age, I grew up around people who worked and built things with their hands as my grandfather was a master carpenter and my father was a painter. I developed a passion for the trades industry. Through the years I have worked in various areas of the construction / maintenance field; from building and working on simple projects to building and working on multi-million dollars homes and businesses. 

I was born and raise here in the mountain of Western NC, specifically, here in Buncombe County. I am a 1994 graduate of AC Reynolds High School. My wife Jennifer and I have been married for 25 years and have a 24 years of son who will be getting married soon. 

The trades industry is in desperate need of skilled men and women that have a passion for what they do. I have an excitement, love and respect for all areas of the construction trade industry, as it is part of what helped mold me into the person that I am today. Though my class, it is my hope is that I can pass along that same excitement, love and respect to the next generation of trade workers. 

I look forward to getting to know each of you and am excited at what we will accomplish this school year!
