Meet Mrs. Wooten!

My name is Tiffany Wooten, and I teach English II teachers at Clyde A. Erwin High School. I have been an English teacher in the Erwin District since 2010.

I graduated from Central Piedmont Community College in 2007 with my Associate in Arts degree. After completing my two-year degree, I transferred to The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree. I majored in English, and minored in both Africana Studies and Secondary Education.
I love my job, and enriching the lives of my students brings me so much joy. I try to make my classroom as fun and inviting as possible, so that my students feel like it is a second home. I like to lovingly refer to my classroom as "Happy Home." In "Happy Home," students are expected to respect one another and every person who enters our classroom.

My main goal as an educator is to make each one of my students feel important and appreciated. I want to encourage them to find their passion in life and develop the skills they need to pursue their passion. I love teaching English and helping students deepen their knowledge of literature and how it can be applied to one's life.
I look forward to working with both you and your student(s) this semester as we create a positive learning environment together.

I am also the advisor for Key Club and the co-advisor for Beta Club at Erwin. Key Club is both a globally and nationally recognized service club. We serve the community and our school through various service projects and fundraisers throughout the school year. Beta Club is a nationally recognized honors society; students must receive an invitation to join Beta Club. Please have your student(s) see me or Mr. Rockoff for more information about Beta Club.
Parents-I would like to encourage you to keep in close contact with me throughout the school year- even if it is just to check in.  Feel free to email or call me any time. I am here to help you and your student(s) in any way I can.

Let's make this an awesome school year!
