Welcome Students, Parents, Colleagues, and All!   My name is Frank R. Tellez
(pronounced tay-is).

We are in unprecedented times which requires us all to be flexible and modify our educational learning.  After a two week in person orientation period for some students and virtual for the rest of the students we will all once again go to a 100% virtual leaning program.  Unlike the Spring semester which had little accountability, this Fall semester will require every student to participate in online learning each and every day at your schedule class times (listed below).  Your participation includes attending Zoom or Google Meets video sessions within the first 5 minutes of the class start time.  In other words students must be in front of a computer or other device that allows for face to face live streaming (your face must be visible).  If you anticipate a problem with any of the procedures you must contact an administrator here at Erwin.

Lesson will be posted daily via CANVAS or Google Classroom.

Below is a tentative schedule for the first two weeks:

                       Week 1
Mon Aug 17 - 1st Period Cohort A           9am-1pm
Tues Aug 18 -1st Period Cohort B           9am-1pm

                              Week 2

I started my career here at Erwin High School in 2015. I am excited to teach World History and Honors World History to our Erwin High School Students.

I am from Albuquerque, New Mexico where I taught American History, World History, and Government for 13 years.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, a Master's Degree in American History, and a Ph.D. in Language Literacy and Socio Cultural Studies with concentrations in Critical Race Theory, Social Justice in Education, Educational Leadership, and Western American History.

I look forward to sharing "Stories of the Past' to inspire you into understanding the importance and relevance of World History.

You will learn to decode, analyze, and critique the events and decisions made by our past leaders so that you can learn from their successes or mistakes.  This will allow you to assume your rightful niche in society as one of  'our leaders of tomorrow.'

The ride will be enlightening and exciting. So students, get on board, let us begin our journey to understanding the past, learning from our history so that WE can make the world a better place for EVERYONE
