B.S. Biology and Environmental Studies
UNC Asheville
Licensure in Comprehensive Science 6-12

I am originally from Raleigh, NC.  I moved to Asheville to attend UNCA and never left this beautiful place.  I began teaching at Erwin in 2012.  I teach Biology, Honors Biology, and AP Environmental Science.  I am a member of Erwin's Literacy Leadership Team, Graduation Project Committee, Testing Team, Data Team, Curriculum Council, and Communications Committee.

I sponsor of the Erwin Eco Club and chair the Steering Committee for YES (Youth for Environmental Stewardship), an organization that connects students from across the county to participate in community service events with Asheville GreenWorks. (to join the mailing list, visit bit.ly/joinYES)

Along with Mrs. Banks, I maintain Erwin's Pollinator Gardens.  I was recently awarded the North Carolina Wildlife Federation's Governor's Conservation Achievement Award as the Environmental Educator of the year in recognition for my work establishing pollinator habitat and working with students in Eco Club and YES. My hobbies include gardening, reading, hiking, and bird watching.
