SENIORS: ALL college-bound seniors (2-4 year) should complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as soon as possible after October 1st.   

Parents and students should plan to attend the Financial Aid event below for information regarding FAFSA/Financial Aid.

CFNC FAFSA DAY: The annual FAFSA Day program takes place in October. Students can find locations and register to get free help in completing their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).  Call CFNC, toll-free at 866-866-CFNC or visit:    UNC-Asheville and AB-TECH also offer assistance to families filling out the FAFSA.  Please contact their websites or call them for more information.

SENIORS: Be advised that there is a sea of scholarship opportunities other than our local options--you just have to research!  Search for scholarships/financial aid information on NAVIANCE and CFNC along with the National Scholarship and Finanical Aid Search engines listed below. Be sure to check this web page, NAVIANCE, CFNC, and Google classroom for SENIORS frequently. SECU People Helping People $10,000 Scholarship 2021:

SECU People Helping People Scholarship$10,000 payable at $1,250 for up to 8 consecutive semesters at one of the 16 constituent campuses of the UNC System. Available to graduating public high school seniors who are either members of SECU or the child of a parent/guardian who is a member of SECU. Students must submit the application to Ms. Ferry-Winne, via email, as an individual Microsoft Word Document. The Completed and signed Consent Form, biography, photo and university acceptance letter must be submitted as a PDF to Ms. Ferry-Winne at  Deadline 2/18/21
